For my capstone project from Taipei National University of the Arts, I was afforded the opportunity to design and make clothes for Jekyll and Hyde and so on…I researched and executed five  renderings and made these two alter-ego costumes from scratch for the same actress.

The script, set in the 1880’s, necessitated a period corset and combinations for Eve’s alter ego Heidi. As Eve the actress wore a bustle foundation with bodice and draped skirt over the previously mentioned undergarments.

The corset was derived from a pattern found in Corsets and Crinolines by Norah Waugh. The combinations and the over skirt patterns were lifted from a Victorian pattering book. The bodice started from a commercial pattern.
